A Time of Challenge and Support
My mom had a great team from the Oncology Department at Evanston Hospital, and I will be forever grateful for their support. While I wish I could say that I was supported by family and close friends, there were only a couple (and they know who they are) who were truly there for me. These were what I call “the days of you and me against the world.” Before her passing, my mom demonstrated courage and love that have stayed with me to this day. As heartbreaking as that time was in my life, the experience changed me in fundamental ways.
A Lifelong Commitment to Giving Back
I began a journey of searching for ways to contribute positively to the world. I believe she is with me, guiding me as only a loving mother can.
In my adult life, I have always kept an eye out for opportunities to give back, and I have found charitable giving to be a great way to do so. The causes related to cancer are the ones that mean the most to me. Having experienced the pain associated with this horrible disease, I am dedicated to helping any way possible to battle cancer and support those afflicted by it.
